Destiny April Update : New Prison Of Elders, Blighted Chalice strike, and Other Crap

Destiny April update

Destiny was a game that had the world at its fingertips. A game with a chance to do something completely new in the world of gaming. BUT! Instead, They have created a game that has been disappointing gamers since its arrival. Over the last year there has been minor improvements to things such as light levels, the "dreadful" grind for materials, and weapons, but the lack of fresh content still poses the biggest concern.

Bungie still has a chance to make this game great, but it's only going to get better when the content gets better. With massive content rich games like The Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 thriving and the new "The Division" just releasing, Bungie needs to take a chapter from those games and start introducing new content -- more often.

Options to make the game great.

  • More that just Trials of Osiris- There has to be more than Trials of Osiris without having to wait every 2-3 weeks for an Iron Banner. There should be an event every week other than the Trials of Osiris.

  • Add Matchmaking - Some of us have "real" lives and have to work 40-60 hrs a week. This gives us little time to hunt down extra fire team members to play Trials of Osiris and Raid missions.

  • Make Xur Better - I think many will agree that Xur is a joke. 90 percent of the time he has the same shit all the time!

Look, Bungie continues to disappoint so I don't see this update being anything more than "Cool" for a day, then back to waiting for 4 months for another update. Anyway. Here is a video.. Sorry for the rant!..

The April update will bring Destiny's Light cap up from 320 to 335, and will introduce new challenges like a Prison of Elders exercise that's designed for high-level players. The Reef is the base of operations for the April update, and Variks the Loyal, the warden of the Prison of Elders, has been throwing Taken foes into the arena. This mission supports matchmaking, and it is marked as a level 41 challenge with a recommended Light of 260. Plus, Variks will offer Prison of Elders bounties that give you House of Judgment reputation, and Prison of Elders enemies will now drop engrams.

Obviously, 260 well below the current Light cap, so Bungie is also adding a new Prison of Elders mode called Challenge of the Elders. It will offer "four months of varying challenges that won't repeat," said Bungie community manager David "DeeJ" Dague, and will keep track of your progress on scorecards like the Trials of Osiris. The recommended Light for Challenge of the Elders, a level 42 arena, is 320.

Challenge of the Elders is a fireteam-oriented mode that's scored and timed, so it's about maximizing your score through time management using assists, kills and precision kills. Taking down enemies will obviously raise your score, but if you spend too long farming adds without defeating the boss, Variks will grow impatient - and your score will drop. You'll work toward a score of 30,000, which will reward a high-level weapon, and a cumulative score of 90,000 will reward high-level armor. The game tracks this on an Elders' Sigil, a scorecard that you must purchase once a week from Variks.
